Working with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is easy, as it has some very cool tools to work with. With a modern, tabbed viewing interface that allows you to view multiple documents from within the same window, and apps and tools that can enhance viewing, revising and annotating documents, you are sure to improve your workflow.
Key features include:
Sharing your work is no longer a chore with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The app allows you to share documents with others in a variety of ways. You can share files using Adobe Document Cloud service or via email, and Adobe’s Document Cloud service also allows you to store and access PDF and other documents from multiple devices as well.
The app fully supports all PDF files, and comes with a variety of intuitive tools to enhance reading them, such as automatic scrolling. There are also various reading modes to choose from, including Continuous and Single Page, and there is even a text-to-speech narration engine in Read Out Loud.
Overall Adobe Acrobat Reader DC gives you an effective array of tools to work with. It comes with a stack of new features, such as tabbed viewing and some neat tools for annotation and reviewing. It is worth noting, however, that some features are locked to Acrobat Pro DC, but what you do get is great for the average user. To sum up, with high quality rendering and improved performance over older versions, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is one of the best PDF readers on the market.

To Read or Not to Read: Acrobat Reader 5.0 EULAJust click to accept -- or maybe read it first?
Of course, if you decline the terms of Adobe's End User License Agreement, you won't be able to continue with the installation of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 software. As is clearly stated, 'To run Acrobat [or Acrobat Reader, for that matter] you must accept this agreement.'
No problem, right? Just click 'Accept,' and continue with the installation.
Just curious though: Do you know *what* you've agreed to?
OK, Let's have a show of hands from everyone who's actually read Adobe's EULA carefully enough to understand the rights and wrongs -- what you can, and can't, do with the software? (Hmmm , I see Aandi waving furiously, anyone else?)
I can name at least one other -- Lincoln Stein, columnist for Web Techniques. In a recent column titled 'Click to Accept,' Stein recounts his recent need to download a copy of the Acrobat Reader. He paused at the beginning of the installation process to read 'Adobe's 'click-wrap' license, a long, tedious document filled with legal terms and phrases.'
Now that a new version of the free Acrobat Reader is available, many of us will have the opportunity to review the latest version of the agreement -- or at least to accept it (by clicking the 'Accept' button, of course) without reading it.
If you haven't read it, you don't have to make excuses. First of all, it's not exactly great prose; second, its visual presentation inside a small dialog box [see below] leaves a lot to be desired. Not exactly reader-friendly -- a bit ironic for a program *called* Reader. If Adobe really wanted you to read this -- much less accept it -- before installing the application, why would it be included in a format that requires you to scroll the page 23 times (Yes, we counted) just to see the full text? Seems the EULA wasn't part of the overhaul of the software's graphical user interface!
Anyway, the point here is that, in software as well as in other matters, it *is* a good idea to know -- or at least have a general sense of -- the legal terms to which you've committed. In that spirit, we're posting the Adobe EULA in HTML (current as of the publication date), designed for easier reading. The writing, however, is still heavy on the lawyerish side.
Of course, if you prefer the scroll-down approach, the official integrated version will appear as soon as you begin the installation process.
